This is a paid provider opportunity built around a thoughtful match. You share your residence, support one person’s daily life and chosen goals, and help make ordinary moments—meals, errands, celebrations, learning, and community time—matter.
More Than a Room. A Shared Life Built on Choice.
Host Home/Companion Care is an HCS residential assistance option. The individual and qualified provider live in the same residence, and the provider ensures that authorized support is available when needed.
The home is leased or owned by the provider or the individual—not by United Hands—and may not serve more than three people receiving Host Home/Companion Care or a similar service. Every arrangement must meet applicable HCS requirements and the individual’s authorized plan.

What Host Home/Companion Care May Include
- Helping with bathing, dressing, personal hygiene, eating, meal planning, housekeeping, mobility, and other authorized daily routines
- Supporting medication administration or delegated health-related tasks only when properly trained and permitted
- Teaching and reinforcing skills for independence, communication, relationships, community participation, and leisure
- Securing or providing transportation when authorized, safe, and permitted
- Supporting health, safety, dignity, rights, privacy, choice, and personal preferences
- Following the person-directed plan, individual plan of care, implementation plan, and applicable professional recommendations
- Completing accurate, timely service documentation and promptly reporting concerns or changes
- Coordinating respectfully with the individual, legally authorized representative, United Hands, the service coordinator, and other authorized team members
You May Be a Strong Fit If You Are Ready To
- Be at least 18 years old and meet all HCS service-provider qualifications.
- Provide a high school diploma or equivalency certificate—or complete the competency and nonrelative reference pathway permitted by applicable requirements.
- Complete required criminal-history, registry, exclusion, reference, identity, and other screening without a disqualifying result.
- Share your primary residence with the individual and provide support when needed.
- Complete required orientation, training, competency checks, documentation, monitoring, and home reviews.
- Maintain a safe, clean, respectful home with appropriate space, privacy, accessibility, utilities, emergency readiness, and community access for the person matched.
- Maintain dependable communication and reliable transportation; a valid driver’s license is required if you transport an individual.
- Welcome person-centered choice, cultural differences, family relationships, community participation, and oversight as essential parts of the role.
Qualifications are reviewed individually. This public list is an initial self-screen, not a complete legal or contracting checklist. United Hands must verify the applicant, household, residence, documents, qualifications, training, safeguards, and program fit before approval. Additional requirements may apply to a particular individual or arrangement.
A Home Ready for Safety, Dignity, and Belonging.
- The residence is leased or owned by you or the individual and is not leased or owned by United Hands.
- You will live in the same residence as the person receiving Host Home/Companion Care.
- The household and residence can meet applicable HCS capacity, setting, safety, sanitation, privacy, accessibility, and emergency requirements.
- Every adult, regular visitor, pet, pool, firearm, vehicle, smoking practice, and other relevant household factor can be openly reviewed during screening and matching.
- You are willing to complete a home visit, provide required documentation, correct identified concerns, and participate in ongoing monitoring.

- Join an introductory conversation so both sides can ask questions and understand the role.
- Complete required identity, qualification, background, registry, exclusion, reference, household, and document reviews.
- Participate in a home and safety review and complete any required readiness steps.
- Complete required orientation, training, competencies, policies, and written provider agreement.
- If an appropriate opportunity becomes available, participate in a person-centered matching and introduction process before any placement decision.
